Bakelite Strips (Phenolic Laminate)
Bakelite strips are cut from phenolic laminated sheets. They are hard, dimensionally stable and resist oil and heat, which makes them useful where pressboard is not strong enough. We supply both cotton-fabric-based and paper-based grades.

What grade of bakelite do you use?
F4 electrical grade phenolic laminate in cotton-fabric base. Paper-base grades are also available.
When should I use bakelite instead of pressboard?
Use bakelite where the part carries mechanical load or needs to hold a screw: terminal boards, support strips, wedges and clamps. Use pressboard for general insulation and spacing inside the winding.
